Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Accounts
Aim
The aims of the qualification are to test the candidates ability in the every day operational aspects of computerised accounts software / packages.
Target group
The qualification is aimed at a learner seeking certification of a broad experience in using computerised accounts software and to widen their competence. It is also aimed at those who want to enter employment in a computerised accounts environment.
Entry requirements
No formal entry requirements, but it is recommended that candidates have: Basic keyboarding skills. Basic numeracy skills. An understanding of basic bookkeeping terminology.
Objectives
In addition to the skills required by the Level 1 qualification, candidates should also be able to complete the following: Edit customer and supplier details. Process payments and receipts involving discount. Allocate supplier payments and customer receipts. Process returned and cancelled cheques. Process transfers between bank accounts and cash accounts. Process nominal journal entries. Process a wages journal from given data. Produce customer invoices from given data. Produce customer statements of account. Produce remittance advices. Produce purchase and sales day book summaries. Produce aged debtor and creditor analyses.
Structure
The course is accredited by City & Guilds. The one and a half hour examination (plus five minutes reading time) will take the form of a scenario in which it is assumed that the candidate is working in an accounts department.
